Christian Passover Seder 2023

We welcome you to Founded In Truth’s upcoming Passover event! On April 5th, 2023, Pastor Matthew Vander Els will lead us in a meaningful Yeshua-centered seder ceremony. We will be offering a delicious meal featuring Chicken Souviaki (GF) and hand-made baklava as dessert from the flavorful llios Greek kitchen of Fort Mill, SC, Beef Brisket, and countrysides from the southern cuisine, Sweet Caroline of McConnell’s SC. Gluten-free and dairy-free options will be available. A bottle of grape juice will be at each table; however, registrants are welcome to bring wine to share and enjoy during the ceremony. We look forward to seeing you there!

Jesus and Passover are deeply connected in several ways. Firstly, Jesus was a Jew who celebrated Passover with his disciples during the Last Supper. He shared bread and wine with them, symbolizing his body and blood.
Secondly, the Passover lamb was a foreshadowing of Jesus’ sacrificial death on the cross. In the Old Testament, the Israelites sacrificed a lamb and smeared its blood on their doorposts to protect them from death. Jesus is often called the “Lamb of God” in the New Testament, and his death on the cross freed humanity from sin.
Finally, Jesus’ death and resurrection happened during Passover. He was crucified during the week of Passover and rose three days later, emphasizing the significance of his sacrifice and the ultimate liberation it brings.
In summary, Jesus’ connection to Passover highlights the profound significance of his sacrifice and its connection to the Jewish traditions and faith that he himself was a part of.
