Privacy Policy

We are a church, not a data company. This page explains, in plain language, what this website collects, who helps us handle it, and how to get your information removed if you ever want that. Our website is foundedintruth.com.

What we collect

When you fill out a form. Our contact form and our plan-a-visit form ask for your first and last name, your email address, and your message. Depending on the form you may also give us a phone number, the date you are planning to visit, how many are coming with you, and whether children are joining you. We collect only what the form asks for, and everything beyond your name and email is optional.

When you sign up for updates. The newsletter signup collects your email address. That is all it asks for.

When you simply read the site. Like most websites, we see standard analytics data such as which pages were viewed, roughly what part of the world the visit came from, what kind of device and browser was used, and which site or search brought you here. This is measured with cookies and is not tied to a name or an account, because the site has no accounts to log into.

Who helps us handle it

We use a small number of outside services to make the site work. Each one is named here so you know exactly where your information goes.

Postmark delivers the email from our contact and visit forms. When you submit a form, the details you typed are sent through Postmark to our church inbox so a real person can read and answer it.

Mailchimp (a product of Intuit) runs our email list. If you subscribe, your email address is stored with Mailchimp and we send updates from there. Mailchimp will email you a confirmation first, so you are never added without asking.

Google Analytics tells us how the site is being used, such as which teachings people are finding and whether pages are working on phones. We use it to improve the site, not to identify you.

YouTube hosts our teaching videos, and those videos are embedded on our pages. When a video player loads, YouTube and Google may set their own cookies and see the visit the same way they would if you watched on YouTube directly. That part is governed by Google’s privacy policy, not ours.

Links to books

Some of our teaching pages link to books on Amazon. Founded in Truth is an Amazon Associate, which means the church may earn a small commission when someone buys through one of those links. It never costs you anything extra, and it never changes what we teach or which books we recommend. Amazon sees the click the same way it would see any visit to its site.

What we do not do

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone. We do not run ads on this site. We do not build remarketing or advertising audiences from your visit, and we do not hand your email address to other ministries or organizations. Form submissions are read by our staff and used to answer you, nothing else.

How long we keep things

Form emails live in our church inbox the way any email does, and we keep them as long as they are useful for following up with you. Newsletter subscriptions stay active until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is held by Google under its own retention settings and is not personally identifying to us.

Unsubscribing, or asking us to delete your information

Every email from our newsletter has an unsubscribe link at the bottom, and one click removes you. It takes effect right away and you do not need to explain yourself.

If you would rather we deleted what we have, or you want to know what we are holding, just ask through our contact page and we will take care of it. Ask for a copy and we will tell you what we have. Ask us to erase it and we will, unless it is something we have to keep for a legal or accounting reason, like a record of a donation.

Children

This site is meant for adults planning a visit or studying along with us. We do not knowingly collect information from children through these forms. If a child has sent us something, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to this page

If we add a new tool to the site that touches your information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Questions about any of it are welcome. Reach us through our contact page and a person will get back to you.
